If elected in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, the Labour Party's (LP) nominee, has stated that his administration won't look into prior administrations.

Obi made this statement to reporters on Friday, immediately after introducing Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed as his running mate.

He asserted that it is always beneficial to "look forward."

"As for looking into the previous administration, I'll tell you this: those who exclusively consider the past and present will miss the future. You've heard me explain that you can't close your business while chasing burglars. God didn't give us eyes to look behind us; mine are to look ahead.
“If you come into the government today and decide to stop the leakage first, you will get more. I am not going to be part of any form of victimisation or witch-hunt, it won’t happen. Nigerians must live within law and order.
“But I can tell you right away. If you, the principal person, the local government chairman, the governor or the President are not stealing, your family is not, and those around you are not, you will reduce it by 70 per cent,” Obi said.
