NEWS: Supreme Court Nullifies David Lyon Election, Order INEC To Give PDP Certificate In Bayelsa state [New Politics] » Naijacrawl

Barring any hindrances, the Governor elect in Bayelsa state Mr David Lyon would have become the substantial governor of the oil producing state due to his landmark victory in the last gubernatorial election in the state.

However, earlier today, the highest court in the country; the supreme court has nullified the election and instructed INEC to declare the second highest party in the election of which it is People Democratic Party (PDP) has the winner.

The apex court with the five panel that was presided by Justice Peter Mary Odili nullified Lyon's election sue to the circumstances that surrounded his deputy Senator Biobarakuma Devi, the deputy was alleged to have tendered false information to INEC in the November 16 election in the state.

With this judgement, the PDP candidate, Diri Duoye will now be the one to be inaugurated as Governor of the state.
