The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that Chadian referee, Alhadi Allaou Mahamat, will officiate the Super Eagles' 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against South Africa's Bafana Bafana.
The game is scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, June 7.
Mahamat, a seasoned official, has previously overseen matches in prestigious competitions like the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup. With his experience, including officiating at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, Mahamat brings a wealth of expertise to the field.
Assisting Mahamat will be a team of qualified officials: Mohammed Ibrahim Abdallah from Sudan as assistant referee 1, Abelmiro Dos Reis Monte Negro from Sao Tome & Principe as assistant referee 2, and Pousri Armi Alfred, also from Chad, as the fourth official.
The match will also see Ahmed Sayed Abou Elela from Egypt serving as the referee assessor, ensuring the match's fairness and adherence to regulations. Meanwhile, Munkaila Nassam Adam from Ghana will act as the commissioner for the matchday three clash.
