Ivan Toney of Brentford has the support of legendary Newcastle United player Alan Shearer in his desire to join Arsenal during the upcoming January transfer window.

The England attacker, in Shearer's opinion, would be a valuable asset for the Gunners.

Because of breaking the betting laws, Toney is currently suspended.

The 27-year-old forward, who has been linked to a number of elite clubs including Arsenal, will only be able to play in January 2024.

Speaking about the possibility of Toney joining Arsenal, Alan Shearer said (on the Rest Is Football podcast via HITC):

“My guess is that yes, he is going to be up for sale, and they are sowing the seeds now, feeling the waters, if you like, and seeing how it is going.

“He would be a good player for a top club because he will always get goals and he will always be a threat.”
