Tony Cascarino, a former Chelsea star, has urged Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, to temporarily remove Harvey Elliott and Joe Gomez from his team.

Elliott, according to Cascarino, lacked the level of skill a Liverpool midfielder should have, and Gomez has been way too inconsistent thus far this year.

This season, Liverpool's performance in the Premier League has been underwhelming.

After their most recent Premier League loss to Leeds United, Jurgen Klopp's team has only accrued 16 points from 12 games, placing them in ninth place on the log.

According to Cascarino's Times column (via LiverpoolEcho), "[Manchester] United] are now seven points ahead of their bitter opponents, after being inferior to Liverpool for most of Klopp's tenure, and I think they will finish the higher of the two this season."
At least for the time being, Klopp must give up on some players. Although Harvey Elliott is a really promising young player, he is only 19 and has not yet developed to the standards required of a Liverpool starter. "Joe Gomez was outstanding in the victory over Manchester City but has been terrible for the rest of the season," the commentator said.
