Thibaut Courtois, the goalkeeper for Real Madrid, has asked Chelsea fans not to boo him as he prepares to return to Stamford Bridge.

Courtois, a former Chelsea player, expressed his delight at returning to the club in West London.

On Wednesday night, Real Madrid will meet Chelsea in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie at Stamford Bridge.

Courtois is hoping for a positive response from Chelsea fans.

Courtois told Real Madrid's website, "I hope they don't boo me, but you never know."

"I'm ready for anything comes my way, and we'll see how things go."

I wish you a pleasant return to Stamford Bridge. We've become rivals.
