If English manager Graham Potter fails to lead the Blues to victory over Borussia Dortmund in their UEFA Champions League second-leg matchup next month, Chelsea legend Frank Leboeuf wants his former club, now under the leadership of Todd Boehly, to fire Potter and hire a new manager.
It's not the right time to fire the former Brighton coach, according to Leboeuf, who recently urged Boehly to do so and bring in former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane in Potter's place.
Recall that Chelsea recently suffered a 1-0 defeat to Dortmund in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 in Germany.
The second leg of the match will take place in Potter's team's home stadium in March.
After losing 1-0 to Southampton in their most recent Premier League match on Saturday, Chelsea is currently ranked 10th on the log.
Speaking to Chelsea News, Leboeuf said: “I completely understand the fans’ frustrations and being fed up right now with the situation." We all love the club, and we all want success.
“When you lose twice, with one being against the bottom of the league, it is a normal human reaction to get upset." then asking for Graham Potter to be sacked, but I don’t think it is the right time.
“We have the second leg against Dortmund coming up, but I think if we lose that and go out of the Champions League, then it may be the time to get rid of Potter and think about bringing in another coach."
