Liverpool star Sadio Mané has ended up in the sights of Bayern Munich.
On May 13th, Sky Deutschland reporter Florian Plettenburg stated the Bavarian club had held "first talks" to sign the forward.
Since then, both Bild and Kicker have also come up with a report detailing the interest shown by the Bundesliga winners in the Liverpool player.
Sky Deutschland now explains that the "chances" of Jürgen Klopp’s man arriving at the Allianz Arena are "increasing" because "there has been movement in negotiations" in the last few days.
“Bayern are a serious option for Sadio Mané to change [clubs] this summer." This transfer is definitely possible, "Plettenberg said."
“We hear there has been movement in the last few days." There is a clear development to be seen, also in the discussions between his management and also with the player. ”
Apart from Julian Nagelsmann’s side, Paris Saint-Germain showed interest in the Senegal international. The option to move to PSG has now diminished after Kylian Mbappé signed a new deal.
Plettenberg says the next 'three to four weeks’ will be "very, very crucial" for Mané, whose price is thought to be below €50m.
The 30-year-old has just over 12 months left on his current deal at Anfield. Sky state his renewal talks with Liverpool are "currently stalling" as the Reds are "primarily focusing" on extending Mohamed Salah’s contract. The former Southampton man is "annoyed by it".
Mané’s annoyance with Liverpool’s lack of efforts to offer him a new deal would be well received by Bayern as they are working to sign him this summer. His immediate focus will be on Liverpool’s upcoming Champions League final against Real Madrid on May 28th.
