Following his team's 3-1 Premier League victory over Arsenal on Sunday, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag stated that winger Antony is the "missing link" in his squad.
As Man United defeated Arsenal at Old Trafford, Antony, who switched from Ajax to the club this summer, scored his first goal for the team.
Marcus Rashford, one of his teammates, gave the hosts all three points by scoring twice against the Gunners.
Ten Hag said his team missed having a player like Antony, who he coached while they were both at Ajax, in his post-game press conference.
The Brazilian may grow even more of a "threat" to other Premier League teams, the Dutchman continued.
"I think we have all seen what a threat Antony is, and I think his speed and creativity can be a real threat in the Premier League," Ten Hag said.
Because all the players who can play there, like Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford, prefer the center or the left side, we were missing a player on the right wing.
"Over on the right wing, we now have the player who can play really well. That was the missing link. He did well today, his first performance here. He did well, but I think he can step up.
“I know him from Amsterdam and I know this is a different league, but there is potential and he will be even more of a threat to opponents than he was today."
But I would say, today, it was a great goal.”
