Following Sunday night's loss to Manchester United, Alex Iwobi insisted that Everton needed to pick themselves up and look to the future.

Iwobi scored his first goal of the year, but it was insufficient as the Toffees fell to Erik ten Hag's team 2-1 at Old Trafford.

In the fifth minute, Everton's Nigerian international scored the team's first goal.

In the fiercely contested game, Manchester United earned all three points thanks to goals from Antony and substitute Cristiano Ronaldo.

Everton's seven-game winning streak came to an end as a result of the loss.

Iwobi emphasized the need for the Merseysiders to take the loss as a lesson and prepare for the future.

"The manner in which we conceded their two goals was something that we were talking about before the game," Iwobi said to the club's official website.
“We know the threat that they have on the counter-attack." We tried to nullify that, but we weren’t able to do so. A couple of mistakes, it’s something that we can’t dwell on too long.
Iwobi also reflected on his superb strike in the game.
When the ball came to me, I thought, 'Let me try and place it’. It’s something to add to my game; hopefully there are more goals like that to come.
