Kano Pillars, the Nigeria Professional Football League outfit, have announced the appointment of Ibrahim Galadima as their new acting chairman.
The four-time NPFL champions confirmed Galadima’s appointment on their official Twitter handle.
Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima is now our new Chairman after the approval of his appointment on an interim basis by the Kano state Governor, @GovUmarGanduje on Wednesday. "Alhaji Surajo Shuaibu Jambul has since been relieved of his appointment by the State Government,” the tweet read.
Former chairman, Surajo Shuaibu Jambul, was sacked after his recent attack on an assistant referee during the rescheduled week 31 match between Pillars and Dakkada FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
Galadima was a former chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
His immediate task will be to help the Sai Masu maintain their top-flight status.
The Pillars are currently two points off the relegation zone with three games remaining before the end of the season.
