Emile Smith-Rowe's condition has been updated by Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal.
In preparation for their opening Europa League match on Thursday night, the Arsenal have flown to Zurich.
Smith-Rowe, however, was not traveling with the rest of the squad on the aircraft.
Arteta has now confirmed that the England international has been carrying an injury for some time and has not been able to train since the Manchester United game.
When asked about Smith Rowe at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday, Arteta explained: “He felt some discomfort again in an area that he’s been dealing with now for a few weeks.
“He hasn’t trained in the last few days, so he’s out of the squad.”
