The world football governing body FIFA has rejected the proposed ministerial visitation requested by the honourable Minister of Sports and Youth Barrister Solomon Dalung to address the crisis that is rocking the leadership of Nigeria Football Federation.
It will be recalled that, the Minister in an official letter addressed to FIFA on August 15 urged FIFA to pick a date preferably this August where a meeting between the Nigeria's delegates which will be led by the Minister of Sport, and the leadership of FIFA will meet to address the crisis that is rocking the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) in order to evade the imminent ban from FIFA.
However, in a rejoinder sent by FIFA to NFF on August 16, 2018, the authority of FIFA stated it categorically that the proposed meeting can not hold and several reasons were given for that. Firstly, the FIFA President is presently indisposed and also, one of the Ministerial delegates, Chris Giwa is still under a five years ban in football related activities, and FIFA can not have anything to do with him.
It should be noted that, next Monday is the deadline given by FIFA to Nigeria, to address the crisis rocking NFF otherwise, Nigeria will be banned.
