Manchester United have until Friday to complete a deal for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat after the Serie A club set a deadline for the player’s departure.

Amrabat has agreed personal terms with Manchester United over a move to Old Trafford, but the Red Devils have yet to bid for the Morocco international.

This is because Manchester United have failed to sell the likes of Donny van de Beek and Scott McTominay this summer.

Until Erik ten Hag’s side do so, the Premier League giants are unable to sanction further arrivals as they are walking a Financial Fair Play tightrope.

But Manchester United’s need for midfield reinforcements has only strengthened in the last 24 hours after Mason Mount was ruled out until mid-September with an injury he picked up in the defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

With just over a week left in the summer transfer window, Fiorentina is open to selling Amrabat for a fee of £30 million.

But they will not let him go without time to find a replacement, and according to Corriere dello Sport, Fiorentina will not listen to offers for Amrabat past Friday this week.
