In a thrilling international friendly at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, the Super Eagles of Nigeria triumphed over the 10-man Black Stars of Ghana with a score of 2-1 on Friday night.

Under the guidance of interim head coach Finidi George, the Super Eagles showcased a formidable 3-5-2 formation, with Cyriel Dessers of Rangers leading the attack over Sadiq Umar.

Debutant Benjamin Tanimu made a notable entrance, while Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi, returning from a previous injury, assumed the captaincy.

Nigeria dominated the game from the start, creating numerous scoring opportunities through Dessers and Iheanacho. In the 35th minute, Dessers capitalized on a penalty, confidently converting it into a goal, marking his second for the African champions.

The game took a turn in Nigeria's favor when Ghana was reduced to 10 men just before the hour mark. Substitute Ademola Lookman further extended Nigeria's lead with a goal in the 83rd minute, beautifully assisted by Alex Iwobi.

Despite a valiant effort from Ghana, who managed to score a penalty in stoppage time, courtesy of Jordan Ayew, the Super Eagles secured the victory.

Next up, Nigeria is set to take on the Eagles of Mali in their upcoming friendly match on Tuesday.
