Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has backed both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur to finish in the top four this season.

Souness also said that Chelsea are in "jeopardy" of finishing in the top four after losing their last two Premier League matches.

While Arsenal and Manchester City continue to compete for the top spot, Tottenham and Liverpool are currently in the fourth and eighth positions, respectively, with Manchester United in the fifth and Chelsea in the seventh position at the moment.

However, Souness believes Liverpool, along with Tottenham and Arsenal, will make it to the top four, while he expects Manchester City to defend their title.

“I think both of them [Liverpool and Tottenham] will be in the top four,” Souness told talkSPORT.

“I think Chelsea are in jeopardy; a lot depends on what they do in the transfer window." Arsenal are looking convincing at the moment; they look like a really good team. But I think everyone is playing for second place this season [excluding Manchester City, who should finish first].

“So that is my top-four prediction. Tottenham will continue to win games the way they are playing. Antonio Conte did remarkably well to get them fourth last season.

“He is a vastly experienced manager who knows what he is doing." If he is going down the route of being pragmatic, you have to believe in him; that would be my message to the Tottenham fans.

“You have got a guy there who knows what he is doing." "I think he is the right man for the job and will do well at Spurs.”
