In a significant development for FC Barcelona, former Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick is closing in on a deal to become the club's next head coach following Xavi's exit.
According to reports from Catalan outlet El Nacional, Flick has outlined specific transfer demands to revamp the squad.
One of Flick's primary targets is Dani Olmo, the 26-year-old Spanish international currently playing for RB Leipzig. Olmo, who began his career at Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy before moving to Dinamo Zagreb, is seen by Flick as a pivotal addition to the team.
Additionally, Flick is eyeing Leipzig’s David Raum to strengthen Barcelona’s left-back position. Raum's defensive prowess is expected to bring much-needed stability to the backline.
To address the midfield void left by Sergio Busquets, Flick is keen on reuniting with Joshua Kimmich. Kimmich, who thrived under Flick’s management at Bayern Munich, is viewed as the ideal candidate to anchor Barcelona’s midfield.
Another significant name on Flick's list is Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen. With Joao Cancelo potentially departing, Frimpong is seen as an effective solution for the right-back position, providing both defensive solidity and attacking support.
Flick reportedly discussed these targets in a recent meeting with Barcelona’s leadership, including sporting director Deco. With Xavi's departure already confirmed, Flick's appointment as Barcelona's head coach seems imminent.
