Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain has stated that he only wants to play football with the best players in the world.
When asked about his salary after signing a new contract with PSG, the France international stated this.
The 23-year-old shunned the La Liga winners to extend his contract at PSG, much to the dismay of many Real Madrid fans.
Mbappe also claimed that it was their sporting objective, not money, that persuaded him to join PSG.
Mbappe said it was a shame that the injury to Neymar did not allow them to play together last season.
“Honestly, we only spoke about wages and image rights for a short time,” Mbappe told the media on Monday.
“Playing with top players is what I want."
“It was a shame as we had a tough year as it was Lionel Messi’s first year and Neymar was injured, so we couldn’t play together with the three of us too much.”
