Austrian-Nigerian singer Rose May Alaba has said her mission is to make the west African music genre afrobeats popular in the German-speaking region.

Rose May, who is a sister to Real Madrid footballer David Alaba, made this known in a recent interview with Ameyaw TV.

The ‘Ibadi’ crooner said she is the afrobeats artist in Austria.

She said, “I was born and raised in Austria. It’s a very small country. I’m the only afrobeats artist who brings that music [afrobeats] to this country.

So, I feel like it is my mission to make afrobeats more known in the German-speaking region.”

Rose May said she is happy that Nigerians are supporting her, adding that she will continue to represent her African roots.
