Joseph Parker needed only two rounds to knock Martin Bakole in their heavyweight clash on Saturday.

Bakole was on holiday when he was offered the chance to replace Daniel Dubois in the fight.

Dubois, the IBF world champion, fell ill just two days before his much anticipated fight with Parker.

Bakole was walking Parker down in the first round, but the Kiwi used his speed to figure out the puzzle.

In the second round, Bakole took a big right hand over the top that made him lose balance and the referee ended the bout.

After his victory, Parker called for a title shot. But he might have to wait a while, as Dubois is set to face Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed contest.

“Martin Bakole, thank you for accepting the challenge of flying all the way here on short notice and giving me a good fight,” Parker said.
“I stayed calm, structured, composed and got the victory.
“I’m fit, strong, healthy and sharp. Andy Lee broke it down for me, I had to be patient.”
