Manchester City forward, Julian Alvarez, has suggested that the likes of Sergio Aguero, Willy Caballero, and Nicolas Otamendi convinced him to join the Premier League champions.
Alvarez said he spoke with Aguero, Caballero and Otamendi prior to signing for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The Argentinian forward ended his loan with River Plate earlier this week and will now join up with his Man City teammates in preparation for pre-season and the upcoming US tour.
The 22-year-old penned a five-year city deal in January but remained with River Plate until the end of their campaign.
As quoted by Man City's official website on Friday, "We all know how important Kun was for Manchester City and what he means for the world too, as a club player and as a player for the Argentinian national team as well,” said Alvarez, as quoted by Man City’s official website.
I had the opportunity to speak with him and he told me many things about the city, about the teammates, and about Manchester City in general.
“I also spoke with Willy Caballero and Nicolas Otamendi since we are teammates on the national team."
“I am very excited about what’s to come and I’m very happy to be part of this club.”
Alvarez scored 54 goals in 122 games for River Plate as well as winning nine caps for his country.
