Jurgen Klopp has confirmed he will make a long-awaited return to Liverpool on the final day of the Premier League season after receiving an invitation from his successor, Arne Slot.
The legendary German manager, who bid farewell to Anfield at the end of last season, has deliberately stayed away to avoid jinxing the Reds’ remarkable title charge. However, with Liverpool now 13 points clear of Arsenal and on the brink of being crowned champions, Klopp is ready to reunite with the club’s passionate supporters.
Speaking at a fundraiser in Cape Town, Klopp revealed:
“Yes, the plan is to be in Liverpool, but not on the bus. I’ll be there with the people I saw on the bus. That’s the idea, but we’ll see. I think I’ll be there for the last game.
“I didn’t want to go earlier because I didn’t want to jinx it. If I show up for the first time and they lose, ‘Oh f*** sake.’ So I’ll go when it’s decided.”
With Liverpool exceeding all expectations under Slot in his debut season, Klopp’s return is set to be an emotional moment for fans as they celebrate another historic triumph.
