Leeds United showed keen interest in signing Red Bull Salzburg’s Brenden Aaronson in the winter 2022 market.
The Whites even made an offer, but a deal couldn’t be carried out in January since the Austrian club refused to let the 21-year-old leave.
Back in March, reports coming out of the German press explained that Leeds United "still want" the attacking midfielder and are "favourite" to sign him in the summer.
Jesse Marsch’s side were successful in avoiding relegation from the Premier League on Sunday, and since then, the USMNT player has again been linked with a move to Elland Road.
On Monday, Sky Deutschland reporter Florian Plettenberg took to Twitter to state "there is a total agreement" between Leeds United and Red Bull Salzburg for Aaronson’s sale.
The journalist explained that the overall cost of the deal would be around €28–30m. He further added that the attacker would undergo a medical soon with the English side.
With both clubs having found an agreement and Aaronson soon set to have his medical tests with the Whites, this deal is expected to be sealed, unless there are last-minute surprises.
