Paris Saint-Germain forward, Lionel Messi, is close to breaking an incredible record with his club.

Messi has the chance to become the highest assist provider in a Ligue 1 season.

The Argentina captain has bagged 15 league assists this season.

The former Barcelona captain needs four more to become the record holder.

Messi’s fellow compatriot, Angel Di Maria holds the current record. The Juventus winger registered 18 assists during the 2015-2016 campaign with PSG.

Apart from assists, Messi has netted 15 times in the league for PSG. Overall, the 35-year-old has 20 goals and 19 assists in 36 games across competitions for the Parisians this season.
