The Liverpool captain started the team's first five Premier League games before being removed due to injury during the 2-1 victory over Newcastle United.
Henderson was unable to participate in the goalless Merseyside derby on Saturday due to the injury he sustained in the Newcastle match.
A scan has revealed that the minor hamstring strain the England international has sustained is less severe than Jurgen Klopp had initially believed.
Henderson won't be able to play for Liverpool against Napoli on Tuesday because he will still be out for at least three weeks.
The 32-year-old is also expected to be absent for Premier League encounters against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Chelsea, as well as a meeting with Ajax on matchday two of the Champions League.
Henderson is aiming to return in time for the international break for UEFA Nations League fixtures against Germany and Italy later this month.
