Manchester United defender Harry Maguire is reluctant to leave the club this summer despite losing his place in the team’s starting XI.
According to talkSPORT, Maguire is eager to stay at Man United and fight for his place at Old Trafford.
The England international is in line for an enormous £10 million payoff from Man United if he leaves the club this summer.
The 30-year-old lost his place in Man United’s starting XI at the start of the 2022–23 season to Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane, manager Erik ten Hag’s first-choice pairing.
Also, Victor Lindelof was Ten Hag’s preferred option during the final stages of the season, with left-back Luke Shaw also selected ahead of Maguire on a number of occasions.
Having started just eight games in the league during the 2022–23 season, Ten Hag recently suggested Maguire is not happy with the situation and opened the door for his captain to leave the club this summer.
