Gary Lineker, a former England striker, believes Manchester City were definitely the better team in their Champions League semi-final second leg encounter against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Real Madrid defeated Manchester City 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu thanks to a brace from Rodrygo and a goal from Karim Benzema.
Riyad Mahrez scored against Real Madrid for Pep Guardiola's team.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, qualified for the Champions League final with a 6-5 aggregate victory.
Carlo Ancelotti's team will now compete in the final against Man City's rival, Liverpool, later this month.
“One of the most extraordinary and thrilling two-legged Champions League games in the history of the competition,” Lineker wrote on Twitter after the game.
“City were clearly the better side and unlucky to lose, but this [side] has immense character and somehow kept finding something from somewhere. "Football, eh? ”
