Everything you need to know ahead of the Premier League clash at Wembley on Wednesday

After lining up in the famous red shirt for the first time at Yeovil Town on Friday, Alexis Sanchez is set to make his Premier League debut for Manchester United against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

The big-money signing from Arsenal earned a Man of the Match award in the 4-0 FA Cup win at Huish Park, but it is against his former rivals on Wednesday that he will face his first major test since swapping north London for Manchester.

Sanchez's arrival has re-injected some enthusiasm into the United fanbase, and with Jose Mourinho's side having now strung together five successive wins and six straight clean sheets there is every reason to believe they will arrive at the national stadium full of confidence that they can secure a first away win over Spurs since March 2012.

MAN UTD INJURIES

With Michael Carrick now back available following a heart issue and Daley Blind free to play again after an ankle knock, United have only a couple of injuries to contend with.

Eric Bailly remains unavailable after ankle surgery, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still attempting to recover from knee trouble following his ACL damage.

Mourinho even admitted this week that the club would not stand in the Swede's way if he decided he wanted to rejuvenate his career away from Old Trafford.

MAN UTD SUSPENSIONS

United have no suspension issues as they head for Wembley, and the same is true of Mauricio Pochettino's side.

MAN UTD POTENTIAL STARTING LINE-UP

Having made 10 changes to his starting lineup for the trip to Yeovil, Jose Mourinho is likely to recall a raft of first-team regulars for the trip to Spurs.

The headline news will, of course, be a debut for Alexis Sanchez, with the only question being who he replaces in the forward line. Given the wonderful adaptability being demonstrated of late by the front four, Sanchez could well come in as a nominal number 10 but in a flexible attack which would allow plenty of interchangability with Jesse Lingard, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial.

Elsewhere there should be few surprises, with a fight between Ashley Young and Luke Shaw for the left-back slot being Mourinho's greatest headache.

TOTTENHAM TEAM NEWS

Having chalked up only seven wins in their last 15 Premier League games, Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham have fallen dramatically out of contention for the league title and now sit on the outside of the Champions League spots.

Their recent stumble has not been a reflection of the form of Harry Kane, who continues to find the net with regularity. The one-time United target has scored 30 goals in as many games so far this season, including back-to-back hat-tricks over Christmas against Burnley and Southampton. Most recently he scored the late equaliser which saved Spurs the embarrassment of an FA Cup fourth-round defeat to Newport County on Saturday.

Spurs face a critical run of fixtures starting with Wednesday's match against United. They follow the Red Devils' visit with a trip to Liverpool, and after their replay against Newport they host Arsenal in the north London derby before returning to Champions League action away to Juventus.

TV COVERAGE & KICK-OFF TIME

The match at Wembley kicks off at 20:00 GMT on Wednesday, with live coverage available in the UK on BT Sport 1.

BEST OPTA MATCH FACTS

Spurs have won two of their seven Premier League matches against Manchester United under Mauricio Pochettino (D1 L4), as many as they’d won across their previous 26 games against the Red Devils, spanning eight different managers (Glenn Hoddle, David Pleat, Jacques Santini, Martin Jol, Juande Ramos, Harry Redknapp, Andre Villas-Boas, Tim Sherwood).

The Lilywhites have won their last two home league games against Manchester United – they last won three consecutively against the Red Devils back in September 1966.

Manchester United have won each of their last six games at Wembley Stadium, scoring at least twice every time. They last lost at the venue in the 2011 Champions League final (1-3 vs Barcelona).

Spurs have picked up just three points in their five games against Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City and Man Utd this season (W1 D0 L4), fewer than any other ‘big six’ side in these fixtures.

No team are on a current longer unbeaten run in the Premier League than Manchester United (8).

Alexis Sanchez could make his Premier League debut for Man Utd in this game; he scored in Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Spurs in November, and could become the third player to score against them for two different clubs in the same Premier League season after Eric Cantona in 1992-93 and Benito Carbone in 1999-00.

Harry Kane has had a hand in four goals in his last four Premier League games against teams managed by Jose Mourinho (three goals, one assist).

Anthony Martial has scored in three consecutive Premier League games for the first time – he’s only scored in one of his previous 10 top-flight games in London, netting twice against West Ham in May 2016.
