Frenkie de Jong, a midfielder for FC Barcelona, is reportedly a target for both Chelsea and Manchester United, but he would rather move to Stamford Bridge than Old Trafford.

The National reports that the Barcelona manager is expected to make the Spanish midfield trio of Sergio Busquets, Pedri, and Gavi his first choice in midfield despite the Dutch international's success at the Nou Camp.

According to the report, De Jong has told some of his friends that he would prefer to join Chelsea over Manchester United, even though the Blues have not yet made an offer for him.

De Jong might make a good addition to Thomas Tuchel's team; it will be interesting to see how this develops.

This type of midfielder may not seem like a top priority for Chelsea, but there's a good chance that he could improve under the right circumstances and end up being a better player than Jorginho or Mateo Kovacic.

This would be a big blow for United, who urgently need to bring in improvements to Fred and Scott McTominay, with De Jong also impressing under Erik ten Hag when they were together at Ajax a few years ago.
