Cesc Fabregas, a former Barcelona midfielder, has spoken out about Lionel Messi's potential return to the Blaugrana from Paris Saint-Germain.
It would not be just Messi's decision, Fabregas, who currently plays for Italian second division team Como FC, emphasized, adding that Barcelona would have to be receptive to the player's return to Camp Nou.
With manager Xavi making no secret of his desire to bring the Argentine back to Spain, Barcelona is eyeing a sensational return for their former captain, Messi.
Even Barcelona’s President, Juan Laporta, has expressed his desire to have the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner back at Camp Nou.
Speaking to RAC1, Fabregas, a former Chelsea and Arsenal star, said:
“It could be an option if Barça were open to it." It doesn’t just depend on him, it also depends on the club. "
Messi’s current contract with PSG will expire in the summer of 2023.
