Michael Owen, a former striker for Manchester United and Liverpool, said that the disallowed goal scored by Arsenal during their Premier League match at Old Trafford on Sunday should have been "left alone.

"

For the first time this year, Arsenal was defeated 3-1 by a revitalized Manchester United.

Martin Odegaard was found to have fouled Christian Eriksen before the game, which resulted in Martinelli's first-half effort being disallowed.

Although Owen acknowledged that "it was a foul," he insisted that Paul Tierney, the on-field referee, did not do enough to investigate the incident on his side screen.

A few minutes after the goal was disallowed, Manchester United took the lead thanks to a goal from Premier League rookie Antony.

“I possibly think it is a foul,” Owen said on Premier League Production.

But I certainly don’t think it’s enough of a foul to bring it back and then to review it. I don’t think the referee should be going anywhere near that screen on the side of the pitch.

“There is no clear and obvious error. We are going back to the stage where we re-referee games here. It should be left alone. Some think it’s a foul, others think it isn’t. If that’s the case, then it’s not clear and obvious.
