Arsenal is set to allow their experienced midfielder Granit Xhaka leave the club this summer.
The Gunners want to bring in new faces at the Emirates and have been linked to a number of midfielders.
Mikel Arteta will guide the club to their return to the Champions League for the first time in seven years, hence the need to bring in more experienced players.
A report on talKSPORT said this could ultimately spell the end of Switzerland’s international time at the club.
TalkSPORT’s chief football transfer expert Alex Crook: “Granit Xhaka is an interesting one because I think when you look at this link at first to Bayer Leverkusen you would say, ‘Well that can’t happen’.
“He has only got a year left on his contract.
“We know Mikel Arteta is looking at revamping that midfield area. There’s every chance they go back in for Moises Caicedo at Brighton.
“If a big money offer did come in, for a decent fee, for a player in the last year of his contract I think Arsenal could be tempted.”
