AC Milan winger, Samuel Chukwueze, has revealed that his mum didn’t initially support his football career.
The 24-year-old said his mum wanted him to focus on his academics.
He said the mum burnt his boots in a bid to make him give up on football.
“In Africa, developing talent was very hard. But through hard work and God’s grace, everything worked perfectly fine. I encountered so many obstacles before I became who I am today.
“It wasn’t easy. My mum didn’t not allowed me to play football. African mothers believe you have to study. But things changed. You know, when God says ‘This is your destiny,’ and this is your destiny.
“My mum burnt my boots and everything. But right now, she believes in football. Before, she didn’t trust the process but now she trusts the process,” Chukwueze told Milan TV.
