The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has chosen seven coaches as potential candidates for the Super Eagles head coach position, which is currently vacant.

One of the contenders is Finidi George, who is currently serving as the interim head coach. He recently led the team in matches against Ghana and Mali.

The NFF opened up the position after the contract of the former coach, Jose Peseiro, expired earlier this month. Peseiro helped the Super Eagles secure second place in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Cote d’Ivoire.

Both local and foreign coaches applied for the position, and the NFF is now in the process of selecting a permanent head coach. An announcement is expected to be made next month.
