The Ligue 1 Young Player of the Month for August is Folarin Balogun.

The forward, who was born in Nigeria, signed a season-long loan agreement with Ligue 1 team Reims this summer.

In six league games for Reims, the 21-year-old has scored five goals and given one assist.

Balogun is currently the joint-third top scorer in the French League.

The Reims manager, Oscar Garcia, hailed the player for his impressive displays since his arrival at the club.

“There was a question about his ability to adapt quickly to the team,” Garcia told the league’s official website.

His integration was very fast and very easy. He is very happy to be here; he talks a lot, and he smiles. "
