Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has challenged the newly appointed Chairman of Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia, Coach John Obuh to use his wealth of experience to develop the football club and bring glory to the State.

This is even as the Governor gave a marching order to the Commissioner of Youth Sports to redevelop the Nsulu Games Village in the State for sporting excellence.

Otti who received the Abia Warriors Chairman in his Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South country home during Obuh’s Thank You visit, said the choice of the former Nigerian Under-17 Coach as the Chairman of Abia Warriors was based on his merits and records of his achievements.

He charged the new Abia Warriors boss to take the club to the next level and to bring glory to the state.

Speaking on the redevelopment of Nsulu Games Village, Governor Otti said the famous sports facility would be repositioned not just for football but for other sports events which would in return, produce many sports talents for the state.

In his thank you message, Abia Warriors Chairman, John Obuh appreciated the Governor for finding him worthy for the job, promising to deploy his accumulated experience to lift the Nigerian Premier League Club to a higher level, in line with the Governor’s mandate.

He also assured that the club would be used to generate funds for Abia State.

“We are going to deal with everything that has to do with players’ business, both in the playing and making sure that our children get opportunities to bring in funds into the purse of Abia State”, Obuh said.
