Olajide Omotayo has earned a spot in the men’s table tennis event at the 2024 Olympic Games.
Omotayo clinched his berth with a dominant 4-0 victory over Congo-Brazzaville’s Saheed Idowu in the semi-finals of the qualifying tournament held in Kigali, Rwanda.
This achievement marks Omotayo’s second appearance at the Olympics.
In the women’s category, Offiong Edem secured her place at Paris 2024 after a hard-fought 4-2 semi-final win against Tunisia’s Fadwa Garci.
The 37-year-old Edem will be making her fifth Olympic appearance, showcasing her enduring talent and experience in the sport.
The qualifying tournament concludes today, Saturday.
