Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, who tested positive for testosterone, could now be suspended for four years.

Only in July 2022 did Pogba make his way back from Manchester United to the Serie A team.

The move, however, has not gone as expected because he has also experienced injury problems.

The most recent development is that Pogba allegedly tested positive following a league match against Udinese on August 20, a game in which he did not participate.

The national anti-doping tribunal of Italy has now placed Pogba on an initial precautionary suspension. He has three days to ask for a B sample.

The maximum suspension in these situations is four years, which includes a two-year initial ban that can be increased to four years if it can be shown that the substance was consumed on purpose.

The most recent similar case in Serie A saw Atalanta’s Jose Luis Palomino banned and then absolved after missing four months when a positive test for the steroid clostebol was overturned by the B sample.
