On social media, different people have responded differently to an edited photo of Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele sporting deadlocks.

In six La Liga games this season, Dembele has scored twice and recorded two assists, continuing his impressive play from the latter half of last season.

After the conclusion of the last international break prior to the FIFA World Cup 2022, the Frenchman was seen at Barcelona's training facilities.

However, it is his photoshopped image that has social media users talking.

Dembele appeared to have a new hairstyle in the Twitter photo that Naijacrawl obtained. This has surprised some users.

@Pheelleepz, a shocked user on social media, questioned how the Barcelona star's hair managed to grow so quickly:

"How did his hair grow that fast?"

@SadiqBalah, who was unconvinced about the image, asked other social media users to confirm whether Dembele indeed had dreads:

"Abeg tell me it’s photoshopped."

@Sammiwonda wrote:

"Looks good but we don't want."

Another user, @ldvscuban, claimed Dembele would be rechristened if he became Rastafarian with his "new hairstyle":

"Dembele now a rasta. So his new name is I-Dembele. Most rastas put I in front of their names. How I know am Jamaican."
