Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to sell defender Achraf Hakimi this summer, as some of the club’s staff believe he has a ‘harmful influence’ on forward Kylian Mbappe, according to L’Equipe (via Get Football).
Hakimi joined PSG from Inter Milan in a deal worth up to €70 million in 2021.
The Morocco international made 41 appearances in all competitions for PSG in his first season, scoring four goals and registering six assists.
Hakimi helped the Parisians win Ligue 1 and the French Super Cup in his first season at the club.
However, Hakimi’s form since last year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar has been a source of concern.
The 24-year-old has only started nine of PSG’s twenty Ligue 1 matches since December, with injuries and suspensions limiting his involvement.
He was notably sent off in the first half of PSG’s league match against Lorient recently.
PSG paid the price for his red card against Lorient, as they went on to lose the encounter 3-1.
The report added that the full-back’s red card irked the club’s staff. Hence, he has reportedly become the subject of internal criticism.
Hakimi has also been having a difficult time off the pitch, with his marriage with Spanish actress Hiba Abouk set to end in divorce.
The former Real Madrid star is also being investigated after being charged with rape back in March.
