Real Madrid on Tuesday reacted to the death of Iñaki Alkiza, President of Real Sociedad between 1983 and 1992.
The reigning UEFA Champions League holders expressed their condolences to Alkiza’s family over his death.
In a statement via its official website, Real Madrid said it regrets the passing of Alkiza, who died at the age of 89.
The statement read, “Real Madrid CF, its President and its Board of Directors deeply regret the death of Iñaki Alkiza, President of Real Sociedad between 1983 and 1992. He was also a Real Sociedad player between 1955 and 1961.
“Real Madrid wishes to express its condolences and love to his family, to his club, and to his friends and loved ones.
“Iñaki Alkiza has passed away at 89 years of age. Rest in peace.”
