Remo Stars goalkeeper Kayode Bankole is optimistic that the team will be ready for the CAF Champions League qualifiers.
The Sky Blue Stars lost on penalties against newly promoted Nigeria Premier League side Sporting Lagos in the final of the Naija Super 8 pre-season tournament on Sunday.
Bankole admitted the loss was a painful one but assured that Remo Stars will take positives from the tournament to prepare well for their continental game.
He also acknowledged the support of the fans throughout the competition.
“It’s painful losing on penalties,” he stated on his social media handle.
“No doubt we will be ready for the CAF Champions League qualifiers soon.
“We will work on ourselves to build on the positivity of the tournament,” he added.
Remo Stars will compete in the CAF Champions League for the first time.
