Paul Scholes, a former Manchester United midfielder, claims that new manager Erik ten Hag will prevent Jesse Lingard from leaving the club this summer.
Scholes believes Lingard would be a good fit for Ten Hag's style of play.
Lingard has made over 200 appearances for United, although his contract expires at the conclusion of this season.
West Ham and Newcastle United have also been connected with the attacker, who is thought to be dissatisfied with Manchester United's treatment of him.
"We all witnessed what he did at West Ham," Scholes stated on talkSPORT. He's a fantastic footballer who can help a team score goals.
I think he might suit him [Ten Hag] and he might want to keep him. We will see what happens.
If it’s obvious he never wants to leave Manchester United, and if this manager wants him, then why wouldn’t he stay?
