In the most recent FIFA Coca-Cola women's world rankings, which were released on Friday morning, the Super Falcons of Nigeria advanced eight positions.
On the official FIFA website, the most recent ranking was made public.
The nine-time African champions are currently ranked 32nd globally.
The Super Falcons' ascent is a result of their outstanding performance at the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2023.
The Nigerian women finished the group stage unbeaten, drawing 0-0 with Olympic champions Canada and defeating co-hosts Australia 3-2.
The Three Lionesses of England, however, defeated the Super Falcons 4-2 on penalties to end their tournament in the round of 16.
They continue to be the best team in Africa.
The top five teams on the continent are made up of South Africa, Cameroon, Morocco, and Ghana.
On December 15, 2023, the FIFA/Coca-Cola women's world rankings will be released.
