The Swedish national team has qualified for the quarter finals of the FIFA 2018 world cup, after their win over Switzerland.
The Sweden team won by 1-0 goal margin, after been awarded a penalty towards the end of the match.
This will be their first qualification to the quarter final since 2006. The Swedish side have been known to have in their midst, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one of their best player in the squad, but he was left out of the world cup this year. Many pundits thought it'll be difficult for the team to pass the group stage without their best player, but they proved many wrong, as this world cup seems to be their best since 2006.
Zlatan has always been part of the world cup team since 2006 but without his inclusion this year got them to quarter finals. In 2006 they were knocked out in round of 16, in 2010, they were knocked out in group stage, in 2014 and 2016, they couldn't qualify for world cup and European cup.
