Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has urged Romelu Lukaku to call him after the striker was handed a lifeline by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino was officially unveiled on Friday, and he stated that he expects Lukaku to report for pre-season if he is still at the club.
Lukaku spent the last season on loan at Inter Milan and the Belgian has made clear his desire to return to the Serie A giants on a permanent basis
The 30-year-old has no intention of moving to Saudi Arabia, where several Pro League clubs have registered an interest.
But Pochettino hinted Lukaku still has a chance to prove his worth and offered an olive branch on Friday by insisting he expects to see the former Manchester United attacker back at Chelsea’s Cobham training base next week.
However, Lukaku is currently on holiday and posted an update on Instagram under which Drogba wrote on Friday, “Hey boy, Romelu Lukaku, please call me!”
