The Blues are keen to bolster their squad to help their manager return to his best form in the second half of the campaign.
Sane spent four years with Manchester City, from 2016 to 2020 before moving to Germany.
He joined Manchester City for a reported €52 million fee and scored 39 goals while providing 43 assists in 135 matches to help them win two Premier League titles, two League Cups, and one FA Cup.
He made a €49 million move to Bayern Munich and continued to impress, scoring 55 goals and providing 51 assists in 198 appearances to help the Bavarians win three Bundesliga titles.
Sane is in the final months of his contract with Bayern Munich and will be available for a lower fee if an approach is made for his services.
Meanwhile, Arsenal legend, Ian Wright, has recently slammed Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca, for saying the Blues stand no chance of winning the title this season.
