Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard and goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale have fired warnings to Manchester City that ‘anything can happen’ in the Premier League title race.
Ramsdale said that they will be watching Manchester City, believing that the Citizens will slip at some point and Arsenal will pick up the pieces.
This was after the Gunners went to St. James’ Park and claimed all three points from Newcastle, beating Eddie Howe’s men 2-0 in the process.
Arsenal came away from St James’ Park with all three points and are one point behind the leaders, Manchester City.
While Arsenal have three games remaining in the Premier League, City have four as the battle for the 2022–23 trophy goes on.
“Last year here was one of the toughest days of my career, to be honest,” Odegaard told Sky sports.
“We have to keep going and digging in and fighting until the end [in the title race]. It is football, anything can happen and we need to be ready.”
Ramsdale added, “We’ll be pushing every step of the way.
“Hopefully if they slip up, we’ll be there to pick up the pieces. We’ll be looking on from the wings.”
