The Qatar tournament's opening knockout match has been officially confirmed.

With a 2-1 victory over Ecuador in the first set of games played on Tuesday, the Teranga Lions advanced.

Prior to Moises Caicedo's equalizing goal for the South Americans, Ismaila Sarr's penalty gave Senegal the advantage.

The victory was then secured by Captain Kalidou Koulibaly's volley.

The Three Lions defeated Wales 3-0 in the late kickoffs to secure their qualification.

Marcus Rashford of Manchester United scored twice either side of a goal by Phil Foden to give Gareth Southgate's team the win.

In the World Cup, England has won 14 times and tied six times against African opponents without ever suffering a loss.
