Sister of Cristiano Ronaldo, Katia Aveiro, has supported her brother's decision to turn down European clubs in favor of a lucrative move to Saudi Arabian club, Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo, who was particularly keen to join a UEFA Champions League club after his contract at Manchester United was terminated in November, signed a huge deal with Al Nassr that will see him remain at the club until 2025.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner signed a contract with Al-Nassr on Friday night that will see him earn $175 million per year.

Reacting, Aveiro, in a post via her Instagram story, backed Ronaldo to "make history once more" after he joined Al Nassr.

Sharing a photo of her brother holding up Al-Nassr’s yellow and blue shirt, Aveiro wrote: “Pride of my life... to make history once more.”

Ronaldo will hope to lead Al-Nassr to win the Saudi Arabia league this season as they currently sit in the second position with two points behind leaders Al-Shabab after ten games.
